Are you sick and tired of battling with stinky diapers?

Then Rockin' Green should be on your cloth diaper playlist! It comes in 3 rockin' formulas and tons of sweet fragrances, which is music to anyones ears.

Classic Rock: This is the sound that started it all. Our original formula is great for diapers and regular clothes. So use it on everything! This formula is designed for those with middle of the road water, not too soft and not too hard. When in doubt start with classic rock!

This bag will do at least 45 loads in a top-loader and 90 in a front-loader, though some may find it does even more!

First Time User

The mission is to de-funk your diapers! To get rid of built up minerals and left over detergent do the following:

   1. Fill your washer with hot water and 3 Tbsp* of Rockin’ Green, along with your diapers.
   2. Let it soak for approximately 30-60 minutes. Then launder as usual, skipping the soap. If you have a HE machine, you may have to consult your manual but you can usually do a soak by pressing the start or pause button.

Tip: Repeat this process anytime you need a good deep-cleaning. If your diapers have excessive buildup or residue, it may take a few soaks to get them in good condition. For those with really hard water, you may find a quick soak before every wash helpful.

Washing Instructions:

Washing diapers and clothing should not be a complicated ordeal. Forget everything that you have heard, and keep it simple. You don‘t need extra boosters or add-ons with Rockin’ Green.

   1. Savor the smell of your Rockin’ Green detergent…ahh…yummy….
   2. Dump your diapers/clothes into the washer and do a cold rinse/wash to get the nasties out prior to the wash cycle. The more water, the better!
   3. Add the detergent and do a hot wash. Use 2-3 Tbsp* per load. For HE machines or those with soft water use 1-2 Tbsp*. Rockin’ Green is good for clothes and diapers. So toss a couple tablespoons in there!
   4. Double Rinse.
   5. Enjoy your clean fluff!

Continue to use Rockin’ Green to keep the stinkies at bay.

*If you have soft water, you may need less detergent than that indicated. So start with 1 tbs, and go up from there as needed.

Rinsing

Rockin’ Green is a clean rinsing formula, so many people find that they can eliminate extra rinses from the end of their wash routine. Which saves time and money!

Rockin’ Green makes the diaper laundry FUN again!

FAQ

-Is it safe for my diapers?

Absolutely! You don’t have to worry about repelling or buildup with Rockin’ Green. And you only use a small amount with each load of clothes, so it rinses clean. In most cases you don’t even need to do an extra rinse!

-Will it void my diaper warranty? Like with Bumgenius, etc?

Many manufacturers have specific instructions on how and what to use when washing your cloth diapers. For example Bumgenius states:

You should only use detergents that are free of dyes, enzymes, perfumes, essential oils, whiteners and brighteners.

Rockin’ Green is free of dyes, enzymes, whiteners and brighteners. So you can rest assured that it is safe for all diapers. The scented version does contain natural fragrances, so for those worried about warranty issues order either the soft rock version, or the classic or hard rock formula, unscented.

-Can I use it on other laundry?

Yes! We use it on all our laundry here, and many of my customers find it easier to use one detergent for all their laundry.

-My baby is really sensitive, what do you recommend?

Try the soft rock formula! It has been tested on some of the pickiest babies around with great results.

-My diapers stink! Will Rockin’ Green help?

Yeap! You can do a mini-strip when you first start using Rockin’ Green to get the jump on the funk.

1. Fill your washer with hot water and 3 Tbsp of Rockin’ Green, along with your diapers.

2. Let it soak for approximately 30-60 minutes. Then launder several times skipping the soap. If you have a HE machine, you may have to consult your manual but you can usually do a soak by pressing the start or pause button.

*Tip: Repeat this process anytime you need a good deep-cleaning. If your diapers have excessive buildup or residue, it may take a few soaks to get them in good condition.

You can also do a soak anytime that you feel your diapers need a good deep cleaning.

Keep using Rockin’ Green to keep the stinkies at bay.

-Do I need to do anything special if I am switching from another detergent? What about Tide?

If you are switching from a clean rinsing detergent, you may have little to no trouble switching to Rockin' Green. If you are using something like Tide however, you may experience some problems as the built up soap is drawn to the surface of your diapers. Even diapers that appeared to be clean before switching, may suddenly become stinky the first few washes with Rockin' Green. This is totally normal, and will improve with continued use. Some people may even experience rashes and repelling as the old detergent is being flushed out. To speed up the process, try Rockin' an overnight soak with 3 Tbs of Rockin' Green followed by several washes with nothing. Repeat the process until your diapers are fresh smelling again.

-Will Rockin’ Green work on my Hard Water? Soft Water?

Yes. Rockin’ Green was designed with hard water problems in mind, so even if you have had trouble finding things that work in the past, Rockin’ Green will surprise you. If you have soft water, you can use even less Rockin’ Green to get the same effect. Begin with 1 tbs, and adjust the amount as needed.

-My baby has a rash! Help!

Rashes can be caused by a lot of things, changes in diet, teething, suede-cloth allergies etc...so when in doubt send us an email and we will help you troubleshoot. Seriously, they call us the laundry gurus for a reason! Here's the most common causes of detergent related rashes and possible solutions:

-Did you recently switch to Rockin' Green? If you just made the jump, it's most likely old detergent coming to the surface and causing issues. Even if your first soak was clear, it's possible that minerals, enzymes and other gunk are now living on the surface of your diapers. So try Rockin' another soak and following up with several washes with nothing.

-Diapers look and smell great, but you are experiencing irritation? Get naked! Bare Naked that is....while we have taken great care to pick the gentlest scents on the market, we know that sometimes babies don't like to follow the rules. So skip the scent and try unscented.

-Diapers stinky? Coupled with sore bottoms? Check your wash routine. Make sure that you are doing enough rinsing at both the beginning and end of your routine. Sometimes adding on an extra rinse at the end is all you need to fix an angry bottom.

-Diapers stink and extra rinsing doesn't help? Make sure that you are using the right formula for your water type. When in doubt send us an email or give us a call and we would be happy to help you figure out your water type. We can not only identify your particular water issues, but help you figure out the right dosage too.

-I just started using Rockin’ Green and they smell worse! What’s up?

Sometimes, it takes a few washes to experience the full benefit of Rockin’ Green. With each wash, Rockin’ Green will work to pull out the trapped in detergent, grime and minerals that are inside your diapers and inserts, which can temporarily cause stink issues or even repelling for some people. If you experience this problem, we would suggest you Rock a Soak overnight and then do several washes with no soap added to flush out all the gunk. Repeat the process until your diapers are clean smelling, and then continue to use Rockin’ Green at the recommended dosage for day to day washings.

-Will the scented oils cause problems with my diapers?

There is approximately 10 drops of natural fragrance oil per 45 load batch so the amount of oil in each load is negligible. The oils used in Rockin’ Green are 100% natural, so the risk of irritation is much less than other scented products on the market.

-Will Rockin’ Green work on my HE Washer? My Frontloader?

Absolutely! And because it’s a non-foaming formula, you don’t have to worry about using too much in your HE washer. Just use 1 Tbs per load.

-What if my washer doesn’t accept powdered detergents?

Most washers have an option for both liquid and powdered detergents. You simply pop the liquid dispenser part out of the drawer to make it powder ready. If you wish you can mix the detergent with a cup or so of water to create a liquid, and then pour that into your detergent drawer.

-Is Rockin’ Green phosphate free?

Yes, Rockin’ Green is 100% phosphate free. And dioxin free....petroleum free...and fat free!

-Is Rockin’ Green SLS Free?

Yes! It’s also animal by-product free, never tested on animals…biodegradable….and a bunch of other Mother Earth Rockin’ goodness!

Kind of Works
Even after repeated soakings (like 5 times overnight plus a few more for a few hours) my diapers still smell although not as much as they used to. Not sure what the problem is, me or the detergent. :(

that's the ticket
We've only ever used Rockin' Green, so I can't compare to any other detergent, but it works well enough that we've never wanted to try anything else! It gets the smell out, which is the most important thing for me. We do seem to get poo stains, at least on BumGenius diapers, but I don't really mind, as long as it's clean! It's just going to get pooped on again!

Love it until I got the funk
I started using RG when I started cloth diapering. I loved it for a while & then I got the funky stinks. I tried all the recommendations for Bum Genius & Rockin Green....nothing helped. I switched detergants & BAM, the funk is gone!

Wish it were better
Rockin' Green did a good job of cleaning my diapers on the surface. But after about a month and a half my diapers had a poop/urine odor even after washing. I tried all different sorts of washes and soaks, but Rockin' Green could not get the odor out.

Love this!
I have used cloth diapers with both of my kids. For my first, because there was no easy way to get special laundry detergent, I simply used what I could get in the grocery store. I started using Rock In Green with my second child and noticed a big difference. My diapers smell better and get much cleaner. Much worth it!

works well
I love this detergent, but it is a little pricey. I don't really see the point of a scent because clothes/diapers never come out smelling scented. Other than that it works great and doesn't leave behind residue.

Not working for me :(
I started using RNG when we started CDing. It worked well for the first month then I started having stink issues. After trying many different wash routines, stripping, soaking, I was not able to get my diapers smelling clean. I wanted to love this, as the scents they have are wonderful, but just did not get the job done for us.

Hardest Part: Picking the Scent!
Oh man i LOVE this stuff! Each time I try a new scent I think "ok THIS is my favorite" and then I try another! So far it's worked really well for me. I tend to let my diapers soak for a bit each time before I wash them (figure it can't hurt!).

Great for everything!
I just bought this and I love it! It works great for our diapers, they smell good, look clean, and even seem to be absorbing more. I also have been using it for all my son's laundry (we need something that will not irritate his eczema) and it has gotten everything very clean!

It just didn't work for me
I bought this because I had heard so many good reviews for it. I followed the direction exactly including starting with an overnight soak. My diapers smelled ok initially but within the week, all my diapers had an musty urine smell. I have never in 2 years of cloth diapering had my daytime diapers smell. I tried changing my wash routine but it still didn't work. I stopped using it after 2 weeks. I switched to detergents and haven't had any daytime odor problems since.

I WANTED it to work for us...
I'd heard great things about RnG, read good reviews, and watched videos... So I bought two bags, (scents: Rage Against the Raspberries and Smashing Watermelons) and it just does not work for us. I tried it in both my "cheap" top loader and my mom's HE front loader, no matter WHAT I did, my daughter ended up with a rash from this. The only time she has ever had a diaper rash at all was while we were using this product.

Ehh
I bought a bag of RnG Pink Lemonade and used it for about a week before my son got an awful rash everywhere. It left my diapers kind of stinky so I don't think it was washing out or getting the diapers clean enough. I do a whole extra cycle with no detergent after my initial wash so I don't understand why we had so many issues. It smelled great, though!

Only Detergent I Use
Really, this is the only detergent I use. It washes clean and smells good too. My diapers always come out clean and the bag lasts a long time if you use the correct amount (only a tablespoon).

Leaves some stains
This is the only detergent we've tried for cloth diapers. It does leave some evidence of the poo that was once there, especially on Bum Genius diapers. Overall, we aren't concerned enough about the staining to try another type of detergent.

I love this detergent!! It's great for my cloth diapers. It rinses clean and smells wonderful. I have used Motley Clean. It smells great in the bag, but does not leave scent on the clothes or diapers. I would highly recommend!
