Hard water is a problem. It’s tough on pipes, pots and pans and especially your laundry. You know it when you have it: stiff, stained and even smelly clothes. Many laundry detergents are full of carbonates, clays and other chemicals as part of their formula to combat hard water, and that is another problem. Many laundry boosters leave a dingy, stiff and irritating, rocky residue on your clothes. Still more detergents ignore the problem and leave residues behind to make it look like your clothes are clean -- even though they are not. They add brighteners, fabric softeners and perfumes. Charlie’s Soap Booster & Hard Water Treatment uses potassium diphosphate, a special phosphate that leaves no residue on your clothes while softening your wash water. Phosphates like this one can safely eliminate hard water problems and be environmentally friendly. They are only a problem with overuse. How to use Charlie’s Soap Laundry Booster:
Laundry:
~ Use at least ½ tablespoon of Charlie’s Soap Booster as needed per wash.
~ Use 1 full tablespoon for tough stains or excessively hard water.
~ Wash according to care instructions. Test on garments that may bleed or fade.
Laundry stain pre-treating:
~ Add 1 tsp of Charlie’s Soap Booster to Charlie’s Soap Laundry Pre-Spray and pre-treat stains as normal.
If hard water scale has already formed in your clothes, soak it out with vinegar or a product like CLR. Add clothes to the washer and add half cup of CLR or two cups of vinegar and let it soak for a few hours. Drain and repeat. Then wash the garments a few times to remove the acid. Take care with delicate clothes as the acid may do more harm than good if left for too long.
