Babywearing 101: Wearing Your Newborn
Are you expecting a baby and want to purchase just the right baby carrier? Perhaps you have a newborn and want some time with hands-free? Concerned about soothing your baby? Join us for this babywearing class geared toward expectant families and families with babies aged 3 months and younger.
During this class, your instructor Laura will cover babywearing safety for newborns, characteristics of newborns, best carriers for newborns, and provide hands on help with baby carriers. Laura will help you navigate the overwhelming array of baby carriers out there, and help you choose the best ones for your newborn and beyond. No worries if baby yet to be born, Laura will bring dolls to try on with the carriers!
Bring along any carriers you have and want to use, or try out one of the instructor’s! It is best to wear light clothing or dress in layers as babywearing can be quite warm. Parents, caregivers, and babies are encouraged to attend! This class is 2 hours long and is limited to 10 participants. Print materials with carrier descriptions and safety information are included in this course.
Cost: $30 per person, or $50 per couple (parents, grandparents and other caregivers may purchase together as a couple)

Laura is a licensed social worker and certified babywearing educator, serving Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding areas. She teaches group classes, private lessons, and does speaking engagements about the wonderful practice of babywearing.
